How can I help you to be your healthiest?

Deep Tissue Massage

focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to relieve chronic muscle tension or injury.

Deep Tissue massage releases toxins into the body from the massaged tissue. You need to drink plenty of water for a while after the massage to flush your body of these toxins. Most sessions will start with lighter pressure to warm the muscles and move slowly into the deeper pressure. It must be done this way because, if deep pressure is applied immediately, the muscles will automatically tighten for protection. This could result in more pain and possibly injury, so the massage therapist will instead begin with less pressure and slowly start the deeper techniques. Most deep tissue massages will use a minimum of oils or lotions, because there isn’t much gliding or stroking of the skin

Reflexology

focuses fully on the feet and hands. While it always feels good to receive a foot massage, reflexology therapy is more than just a foot massage. It is based on the idea that all nerves begin in the foot and travel up the body. This means that, if any area of the body is not functioning properly, reflex zone therapy can help relieve the problem.

Instant benefits of a reflex zone therapy session can include:

  • Increased blood flow to the rest of the body
  • Relaxation
  • Relief from current pain
  • More energy
  • Relieve Menstrual Cramps
  • Improve circulation and Toxin elimination
  • Energy and organ Balancing

Reflexology therapy compliments other treatments and helps speed the healing process. It should not replace other forms of healthcare.

There are certain health conditions that may not be suitable for reflexology, such as when pregnant. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider first to find out if a reflexology treatment would be safe for you.

Sports Massage

is a combination of different types of massage therapies and techniques depending on the needs of the athlete. Sports massage therapy can include techniques from both Swedish and Deep Tissue massage.

Since almost everything an athlete does is to condition their body (this may be in the form of workouts, weightlifting, drills, and more) it only makes sense that an important part of keeping the body in good condition would be to receive a relaxing and tension-relieving massage. Benefits include:

  • Reduction in swelling
  • Increased energy
  • Increased flexibility/Decreased tension
  • Enhanced performance
  • Injury prevention
  • Pain reduction

Swedish Massage

is considered the classic massage method and is been the basis for many other types of massage such as deep tissue massage.

Swedish massage therapy relaxes muscles and enhances oxygen flow throughout the body. Using firm or gentle pressure, the practitioner will employ stroking, vibration, friction, kneading, and tapping to create flexibility, relaxation, increased oxygen in the blood, and the easing of aches and pains.

Therapists can apply deeper pressure to help rid toxins in the body, to help recover more quickly from injuries, and to reduce emotional and physical stress.

Trigger Point Therapy

is a form of therapy that focuses on trigger points in the body. These are not the same as the points used in acupressure, but are physical points in the body that cause pain and can be felt by touch. They are very common and are also commonly known as muscle knots.

There are two types of trigger points: active and latent. An active trigger point hurts without being touched and if it is pressed on, it will send the pain to another part of the body. Latent trigger points only hurt when they are touched and they will not send the pain elsewhere in the body.

The most obvious and instantaneous benefit of trigger point therapy is pain relief, but there are many more benefits that can be achieved over time with trigger point therapy, including the following:

  • Increased range of motion
  • More flexibility
  • Better circulation
  • Reduced stiffness

The above benefits all take time and several treatments. This is because multiple treatments help to teach the muscles how to move without causing as much pain.

Stretching is the essence that lengthens soft tissues. Taut soft tissues limit motion, whether they are tight muscles or any soft tissue that has accumulated fascial adhesions. Stretching can help to reverse this process. Even better, stretching on a regular basis can prevent soft tissues from becoming taut in the first place.
